Monday, January 31st, 2011 UNDERWATER SEARCH AND RECOVERY EFFORTS The Winnipeg Police Service Underwater Search and Recovery Unit has concluded its search for Nathaniel Thorassie. Over the past 28 days the Unit has searched from the Disraeli Bridge to the Redwood Bridge which represents approximately one kilometre of river bottom. Unfortunately Nathaniel has not been located. Our deepest condolences go out to Nathaniel's family as they move forward in their grieving process. The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank the Canadian Amphibious Search Team (CAST) and Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service for their assistance throughout the search. A special thanks also goes to the Salvation Army who provided hot lunches and snacks to the searchers for the duration of the operation.
