Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011    ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON – ARREST C11-12216 On January 17, 2011 at approximately 9:25 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Ross Avenue regarding a stabbing incident.   The investigation has revealed that three occupants, an 18 year old female, 20 year old female and a 27 year old male had been socializing within the home when they became involved in a verbal argument. It's alleged that the 27 year old male began assaulting both females when the 18 year old female armed herself with a knife. The 27 year old male was stabbed multiple times to the upper and lower body.   The 18 year old female fled the residence but was located and arrested by police in the area Isabel Street and Portage Avenue a short time later.   The male was conveyed to hospital in unstable condition, later upgraded to stable condition.   The 18 year old female is facing a charge of: Assault with a Weapon. She has been released on a Promise to Appear.   The investigation is continuing.
