Thursday, January 20, 2011 SEXUAL ASSAULT C11-13123 On January 19, 2011 members of the Winnipeg Police Service took the report of a sexual assault which occurred on January 18, 2011 at approximately 2:00 p.m. in the area of the 400 block of Portage Avenue. A 28 year old female victim was walking in the area of the 400 block of Portage Avenue when she observed a male suspect walking towards her. The suspect passed the victim when she heard him turn around and begin to follow her. It was at this time the suspect grabbed the victim from behind and groped her to the lower body. The victim screamed and the suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as: Male, in his 20's, 6'00" in height, slim build, wearing a dark ¾ length winter jacket with a fur trim hood and a camouflage design, dark baseball cap, baggy denim pants and skateboard style shoes with tan soles. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 986-6668 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477). COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARRESTS C11-13359 Between December 2010 and January 2011, numerous businesses within the City of Winnipeg were robbed of prescription medication. The incidents are as follows: · December 7th, 2010 600 block of Kildare Avenue · December 16th, 2010 800 block of Keewatin Street · December 16th, 2010 200 block of Henderson Highway · December 24th, 2010 1100 block of Concordia Avenue · December 28th, 2010 400 block of Henderson Highway · December 28th, 2010 200 block of Henderson Highway · December 28th, 2010 500 block of London Street · December 28th, 2010 700 block of Watt Street · January 18th, 2011 200 block of Henderson Highway · January 19th, 2011 1600 block of Kenaston Boulevard As a result of an ongoing investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit, it's alleged that the suspect would enter the businesses while attempting to conceal his identity and confront the store clerk(s). Demands were made and in many cases, the suspect would flee after robbing the business of prescription medication. No serious injuries occurred in any of the events. On January 19, 2011, at approximately 2:50 p.m., two male suspects attended to a business in the 1600 block of Kenaston Boulevard. One of the suspects confronted a store clerk while concealing his identity and demanded prescription medication. The clerk complied and the suspect attempted to flee in an awaiting vehicle. Due to the efforts of officers nearby, both suspects were taken into custody. Nathan Keith HAMM, 26 years has been charged with Robbery with Intent and Theft x 10 as a result of his alleged involvement. Joshua HAMM, 22 years has been charged with Robbery with Theft as a result of his alleged involvement. They have been detained.
