GRAFFITI ARREST R10-88175
As a result of a lengthy investigation conducted by members of the East District Community Support Unit, it has been determined that numerous railway cars including overpasses and bridges were subject to graffiti with damage estimates reaching over $125,000.00.
 
Between January 2009 and December 2010 various locations throughout the city and surrounding areas were targeted. Due to the efforts of the East District Community Support Unit, a 20 year old male suspect was identified.
 
On December 14, 2010, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the Linden Woods area of the city. The male suspect was arrested and is now facing charges of Mischief Under $5000.00 x 59.
 
A large quantity of graffiti related paraphernalia was seized during the execution of the search warrant which included the following:
 
·        Spray paint cans
·        Spray can tips
·        Graffiti related publications
·        Sketch books
·        Videos/Photos
·        Canvases
·        Clothing
·        2 computers
·        3 cameras
·        Video camera
 
He has been released on a Promise to Appear. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are pending.
 
Remember, Graffiti is crime. Anyone doing such acts on property without the owners consent is committing an offence.

MISCHIEF AND THEFT ARRESTS C11-7382
On January 11, 2011 at approximately 1:30 a.m., uniform members, including members of the Canine Unit were dispatched to the 100 block of Edelweiss Crescent regarding two suspicious males.
 
The investigation has revealed that two suspects had forced entry and removed property from several vehicles in the following areas:
 
·        100 block of Edelweiss Crescent
·        First 100 block of Callum Crescent
·        First 100 block of Callum Crescent
·        First 100 block of Harold Percy Place
·        First 100 block of Taunus Drive
·        First 100 block of Taunus Drive
 
Officer's contained the area and members of the Canine Unit began a successful track which ended with the arrest of two male youths in the area of the first 100 block of Taunus Drive.
 
A 13 year old male and 15 year old male were taken into custody and are now facing several Mischief and Theft related offences.
 
They have been detained.
