MALE SHOT C12-249886
On December 11, 2012, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Maryland Street regarding a shooting incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that a firearm discharge did occur striking a 15 year old male to the lower body.
 
The victim fled the area and is listed in stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by the Division 13 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN C12-249485
On December 12, 2012, at approximately 7:30 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Portage Avenue and Woodlawn Street regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
 
At this time, it has been determined that a 48 year old female pedestrian was crossing Portage Avenue in a southbound direction when she was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Monte Carlo being operated by a 30 year old male.
 
The pedestrian was transported from the scene in unstable condition however she has been upgraded to stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
 
 
GROW OPERATION – ARREST R12-125209
On December 11, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Green Team, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the first 100 block of Collingwood Crescent.
 
A search of the residence resulted in the following seizure:
 
582 Marihuana plants – estimated street value of over $651,000.00
157 grams of dry marihuana – estimated street value of over $1,500.00
Grow operation equipment – valued at $15,000.00
 
A 48 year old male was located inside the residence and arrested. He is facing the following charges: Production of Controlled Substance, Possessing Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Theft of Telecommunications and Possess Proceeds of Crime.
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear.  
 
 
STRONGARM ROBBERY C12-249847
On December 11, 2012, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the Richmond West area regarding a robbery incident.
 
Officers met with a 21 year old male victim who advised that he was walking in the area of the 2800 block of Pembina Highway after making a money withdrawal at a nearby financial institution.
 
The victim was confronted by three males in a vehicle. Two of the suspects exited the car and assaulted the victim to the upper body. As a result, the victim fell to the ground at which time the suspects continued the assault.
 
The victim's injuries were minor in nature.
 
When the suspects fled in the vehicle, the victim noticed that his wallet was missing which contained an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
The suspects and vehicle are described as:
 
Suspect 1 – Male, Caucasian, in his 20's with a medium build.
 
Suspect 2 – Male, Caucasian, in his late 20's, heavy build, long brown hair and a short shaven beard.
 
Suspect vehicle – Small, grey, 4 door sedan, late 1990's – early 2000's model.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 6 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204 986-2877 or CrimeStoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
STRONGARM ROBBERY C12-249773
On December 11, 2012, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the area of Atlantic Avenue and Charles Street regarding a robbery incident involving a 51 year old female victim.
 
Attending members met with the victim who advised that she had been walking in the area after making a money withdrawal at a nearby financial institution. The victim did some shopping in the area and began walking home. It was at this time she was confronted by two male suspects. The victim was assaulted and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled the area on foot.
 
The victim's injuries were minor in nature.
 
The suspects are described as:
 
Suspect 1- Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 5'8" tall, missing his middle finger on his left hand.
 
Suspect 2 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 18-25 years of age, 6'0" tall, pierced left eyebrow with a hooped ring, and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
