Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Saturday, December 15, 2012     AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ARRESTS – C12-250351 On Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at approximately 3:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 800 block of Sherbrook Street regarding the report of a male having been assaulted.   Attending officers learned that the assault had occurred at the victim's residence in the 100 block of Smith Street earlier that day. An acquaintance of the victim had attended to the victim's suite that morning and found him to be suffering from injuries consistent with having been physically assaulted. Paramedics were summoned and the 59 year old victim was transported to hospital where he remains at this time.   Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued with the investigation and as a result the following two individuals have been arrested and detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.   Evelyn Orillian FLETT, 42 years of age has been charged with Aggravated Assault.   Ryan Arthur SHINGOOSE, 29 years of age has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation.     FIRE - C12-251903 On Friday, December 14, 2012 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service and other emergency personnel responded to a fire at a commercial building in the 600 block of McGregor Avenue.   No injuries were reported.   Damage is estimated at $120,000.00 and the fire does not appear suspicious at this time.        For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
