HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – C12-251963
As previously released, on Friday, December 14, 2012 at approximately 9:45 p.m. emergency personnel attended to the 500 block of St. Catherine Street regarding the report of male having been assaulted.
 
A 49 year old male was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
The victim has been identified as Orland Joseph ADAMS of Winnipeg.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.
 
Investigators are requesting that anyone who may have observed any suspicious vehicle(s) and or person(s) in the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT – C12-253364
On Sunday, December 16, 2012 members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched regarding a sexual assault involving a 42 year old female.
 
Officers met with the victim who advised that at approximately 5:30 a.m. she was walking in the 500 block of Flora Street when she was approached by an unknown male who then committed a serious sexual assault upon her, after which he fled the scene.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
  • Aboriginal in appearance
  • 20 – 30 years of age
  • Approximately 5'6" tall
  • Average build
  • Wearing a black hoodie and white bandana with black flecks
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-6245 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477)
 
 
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY – ARREST - C12-253149
On Sunday, December 16, 2012, at approximately 3:15 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit were on patrol in the area of Toronto Street and Notre Dame Avenue when they came upon a robbery in progress.
 
A fourteen year old male victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the fourteen year old suspect who produced a can of pepper spray, demanded and received personal items from the victim. 
 
After a brief foot pursuit the suspect was arrested without incident.
 
The accused has been detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre and is facing several charges.
