STRONG ARM ROBBERY ARRESTS – R12-129880
On November 26, 2012 at approximately 10:00 p.m., a 29 year old male victim was approached by two suspects requesting a cigarette while in the area of Osborne Street and Pembina Highway. The victim did not comply, however the suspects demanded additional property. Nothing was obtained and the victim was physically assaulted to the upper body. The suspects fled the area.
 
As previously released, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Uniform patrol members responded to the 1100 block of Grant Avenue regarding a female having been robbed of her property.
 
Attending members discovered that a 40 year old female victim was waiting in the area when two suspects confronted her and demanded property. The armed suspects prevented the victim from leaving at which time she was assaulted and robbed of cash and personal property. 
 
The suspects fled the area and the victim reported the incident to police. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
 
On December 6, 2012 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a 17 year old female victim was confronted in the area of Grant Avenue and Stafford Street and robbed of her property. The victim was physically assaulted before the suspects fled the area.  
 
The investigations continued by members of the District 6 Crime Unit.
 
On Saturday, December 8, 2012 at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service Cadets were in the Polo Park area when they observed two suspects in connection to the previous robbery incidents. Uniform patrol members were advised and attended. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
 
The 15 year old female has been charged with: Robbery, Robbery with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Robbery with Violence.
 
The 16 year old female has been charged with: Robbery and Robbery with a Weapon.
 
The two females were detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
