COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES– ARRESTS C12-255797
On November 24, 2012 at approximately 5:10 a.m., police responded to a gas bar located in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue regarding a robbery event. Two suspects entered the business at which time a 26 year old male employee was assaulted.
 
The suspects proceeded to rob the business of an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise before fleeing the area.
 
On December 18, 2012 at approximately 4:15 a.m., officers were summoned to a convenience store located in the 900 block of Archibald Street regarding a robbery involving two suspects.
 
A 22 year old male employee was confronted and an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise was stolen.
 
On December 20, 2012 at approximately 6:30 a.m., two suspects entered a convenience store located in the 500 block of Osborne Street. Both suspects attended behind the store counter and confronted a 39 year old male employee. The clerk was threatened and cash and merchandise was removed by the suspects.
 
One of the suspects was apprehended by a citizen and held for police. The other suspect attempted to flee in a vehicle which was pursued by officers. Due to the unsafe manner of driving by the suspect, the vehicle hit a curb in the area of Gertrude Avenue rendering the vehicle inoperable. The second suspect was taken into custody.
 
Due to the assistance of members of the public, both suspects were apprehended.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Corbin FINDLAY, 18 years of age has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement: Robbery x 2, Disguise with Intent x 2,Flight from Police Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking x 2.
 
Desmond DUGUID, 29 years of age has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement: Robbery x 3, Disguise with Intent x 2 and Breach of Probation x 3.  
 
Both males were detained.
 
The investigation is continuing.
 
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY C12-256228
On December 20, 2012 at approximately 6:50 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a bank located in the 1500 block of Kenaston Boulevard regarding a robbery that just occurred.
 
The investigation has revealed that three male suspects entered the business and confronted several employees. The suspects demanded money and obtained an undisclosed amount before fleeing in a stolen pick-up truck.
 
One of the suspects was observed to be armed at the time of the incident, however no injuries were reported.
 
Officers located the stolen truck abandoned and discovered that the suspects had now fled in another stolen vehicle.
 
Officers located the suspects in the second stolen vehicle in the area of the 900 block of Markham Road at which time a traffic stop was initiated. An adult female exited the vehicle and she was taken into custody. It was at this time the remaining occupants fled in the vehicle southbound outside the city limits. The second stolen vehicle was later located unoccupied in the Morris, Manitoba area.
