Fraud Arrests  C15-97679
On May 11th, 2015 two suspect males attended to a retail outlet in the vicinity of Sterling Lyon Parkway and Kenaston Boulevard and attempted to purchase gift cards using a forged credit card. An alert employee noticed a discrepancy between the card number and the receipt and contacted police.
 
The suspect males also attended to a retail premise in area of Bishop Grandin Boulevard and St. Mary's Road where they successfully purchased a number of gift cards utilizing fraudulent payment cards.
 
On May 14th, Winnipeg Police members located a vehicle associated to the suspects in the 1800 block of Pembina Highway and arrested 4 male suspects. At the time of arrest officers located a large number of forged payment cards within the vehicle. Investigators subsequently executed a search warrant at a location in 400 block of Century Street where they seized additional forged payment cards.
 
Four adult males from the Vancouver, British Columbia area have been charged with numerous fraud related offences including:
 
-        Participation in a Criminal Organization
-        Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence
-        Possess Property Obtained by Crime,
-        Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data
-        Fraud Under $5000
 
All four suspects were detained in custody. The investigation is continuing by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit and anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6231 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
