Homicide Investigation Update – C15-99958
As previously released, on May 16, 2015, at approximately 11:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 800 block of Alexander Avenue for the report of a male having been stabbed.
 
An adult male was located suffering from apparent stab wounds.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
As reported in the media, the victim has been identified as 35-year-old Milton Brian RICHARD of Winnipeg.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have been with or have information regarding RICHARD's whereabouts on the evening of May 16th, to call investigators at 204-986-6508 or Crimestoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Sexual Assault Update - Arrest – C15-94328
As previously released, on May 9, 2015, at approximately 11:15 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a sexual assault that had just occurred.
 
Officers met with the 14-year-old victim who advised that shortly before 11:00 p.m. she had been walking eastbound on Ness Avenue near Moray Street.  It was at this time an unknown male approached and inappropriately touched her.
  
The investigation continued by members of the West District Crime Unit who were able to identify the suspect.
 
On the afternoon of May 15th, the suspect was located and arrested without incident.
 
A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing a charge of Sexual Assault for his alleged involvement.
 
He was released via a Promise to Appear.
