Assault With A Weapon Update – C14-139032
As released earlier today, on July 2, 2014 shortly before 10:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 1900 block of Portage Avenue for the report of a male having been stabbed.
 
Officers located a 44-year-old male suffering from upper body injuries as a result of having been stabbed.  He was transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
Initial investigation has revealed that the victim along with a friend had been sitting in a parked vehicle when a male on a bike hit them.  When the victim attended to the male to see if he was alright, the male produced and weapon, stabbed the victim and then fled on the bike.
 
The suspect below is described as: Possibly Caucasian, with darker skin, approximately 5'10" tall, early 20s with a slim build and brown hair.  He was riding a silver mountain bike and was noted to be carrying two spare bicycle tires.
