Sexual Assault Investigation – C14-147286
On July 13, 2014 at approximately 5:40 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the Transcona area regarding the report of a serious sexual assault that had occurred an hour prior, involving a taxi cab driver.
 
Officers met with an adult female victim who advised that she had been out with friends at a nightclub located in the Windsor Park area on Elizabeth Road. After consuming alcohol, the victim left the club and while walking outside, she tripped on the sidewalk. It was at this time a male taxi cab driver assisted the victim and placed her into his cab.
 
The victim requested to be driven to a specified location when the driver began kissing her. The driver then drove the victim to the area of Day Street near Thom Avenue East when a serious sexual assault occurred. The victim was injured as a result of the incident.
 
After the assault, the victim was driven to a residence in the area at which time police were contacted.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
East Indian in appearance
In his twenties
5'6"-5'7" tall
Thin build
Tall or high hair – described by the victim as being unique or "weird"
Average build
May have a recent/fresh scratch caused by the victim during the assault
Wearing: Jeans and t-shirt
 
The suspect was operating a Silver, Toyota Prius
 
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit continue to investigate.
