Stabbing – C14-151886
On July 19, 2014 shortly after 3:00 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 500 block of McDermot Avenue for the report of a stabbing.
 
Upon arrival, a 32 year old male was found to be suffering from an apparent stab wound to the upper body.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable.
 
Early investigation has revealed that the victim and two friends were walking in the area of Bannatyne Avenue and Juno Street when they were confronted by an unknown, armed male.  Without provocation, the suspect stabbed the victim once and then fled on foot.  Police were then summoned.
 
The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 20-30 years of age, tall with an average build.  He was wearing cut-off jeans.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6668 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
