Homicide Investigation – C14-151050
On July 18, 2014 at approximately 4:15 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Salter Street for the report of a stabbing.
 
An adult female was located suffering from apparent stab wounds.  She was transported to hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
No further information is available at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Sexual Assault – C14-149281
On July 15, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 17 year-old female was walking in the area of Dufferin Avenue and Salter Street when she was approached by an unknown male on a bike.
 
The suspect attempted to engage in a conversation however, the female ignored his advances and continued walking in an eastbound direction on Dufferin Avenue.
 
The suspect then pushed the female up against a building and began kissing and groping her. The victim fought back and fled the area.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, East Indian in appearance, mid 20's, 5'5" tall, dark complexion, slim build curly dark hair, bushy eyebrows, dark eyes and pocked marked face. He was wearing: a blue hoodie with grey & black plaid sleeves, white/black toque and dark jeans.
 
The suspect was riding a dark coloured mountain bike.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident and or suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
