Friday, March 21, 2014 TEXT WITH 9-1-1 FOR THE DEAF, DEAFENED, HARD OF HEARING AND SPEECH –IMPAIRED COMMUNITY As of March 18th 2014, members of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Speech Impaired (DHHSI) Community are able to register their cell phones with their wireless service provider to prepare for text to 911 (T911) in Canada.   Currently, Winnipeg is preparing the implementation of the texting platform to facilitate these callsand therefore T911 is not yet available in Winnipeg.  For more information on text to 911 for the DHHSI Community, please go to www.textwith911.ca.   TTY services will continue to be available for members of the DHHSI Community.
