SEXUAL ASSAULT – INVESTIGATIONS   C14-14784   C11-132994       C08-142056
Between June and July 2008, a 29 year-old female had been taking driving lessons with a male instructor employed by a private driving school.
 
During four separate lessons, the male instructor would inappropriately touch the female student when explaining various driving techniques i.e.: driving in reverse, parallel parking or simply providing praise.
 
In June 2011, a 16 year-old female student received three driving lessons from the same male. During these occasions, the male instructor would inappropriately touch the female student in a similar fashion.
 
Reports were made, however charges were not pursued.
 
Most recently, in January 2014, an 18 year-old female encountered the same male instructor and a report of inappropriate touching was made to the Winnipeg Police Service.
 
Members of the Sex Crimes Unit continued to investigate.
 
On January 23, 2014, Jasbir, BRAR, 56 years-old of Winnipeg was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault due to his alleged involvement.
 
On March 4, 2014, BRAR was arrested again and charged with the following:
 
Sexual Assault x 2
Sexual Exploitation
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear. 
 
  
INDECENT ACT   C14-46248
On March 4, 2014, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Patrol members responded to a fitness centre located in the 1900 block of Pembina Highway regarding a male performing an indecent act outside the business.
 
A 31 year-old female reported that a Caucasian, male, in his 40's, 5'6" tall, medium build, wearing a grey hoody, navy jacket and grey pants had been involved and was now following her.
 
No contact was made and no injuries were reported.
 
The male has not been located at this time.
 
Members of the West District Crime Unit continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY   C14-46008
On March 4, 2014 at approximately 1:40 p.m., an armed male suspect, while concealing his identity entered a business located in the 1600 block of Regent Avenue West.
 
Once inside, a 62 year-old male employee was confronted and money was demanded. The suspect eventually fled in a vehicle empty handed.
 
No one was injured.
 
The suspect and vehicle is described as:
 
Male, 6'1" tall, medium build, dark brown eyes
 
Red/maroon, 4 door Grand Am, no hubcaps, approximately 2001    
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
