AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - ARRESTS   C14-42725

On February 28, 2014 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 42 year-old male, along with a group of others had just exited a hotel located in the 600 block of Main Street to have a cigarette.

While outside, the group suddenly confronted and began seriously assaulting the 42 year-old male by punching and kicking him to the ground. The assaults continued at which time the victim was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. The suspects fled the area.

The victim was able to walk a short distance when he again encountered two of the previous suspects. While in the area of Main Street and Henry Avenue the victim was assaulted further, causing serious injuries. Again, the suspects fled the area.

A passing motorist observed the victim at which time police were notified. The victim remains in critical condition.

Due to a lengthy investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of Patrol members, Tactical Support Team and Forensics Identification, five suspects were identified and have since been arrested.

Shawna SUMNER, 35 years-old

Angela MOUSSEAU, 30 years-old

24 year-old female – released on a promise to appear

Warren REDHEAD, 33 years-old

Valentine Sumner, 35 years-old

They have been charged with: Aggravated Assault and or Robbery due to their alleged involvement.
