WEAPONS ARREST – C13-159366
On August 10, 2013 shortly after 6:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 400 block of Pacific Avenue for the report of the sound of shots.
 
Officers arrived to find damage to the suite door consistent with having been the result of a firearm discharge.  Two residents within the suite stated that an unknown male and female had attempted to force their way into the suite.  Unable to gain entry, the suspects left and the male returned minutes later, discharging the firearm at the door.  Both suspects then fled the building.
 
Neither resident was hurt.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crime Unit and with the assistance of the Forensics Services Unit a suspect was identified.  A warrant of arrest was obtained due to his alleged involvement.
 
On March 19, 2014 Lewis Jordan STARR 30 years of Winnipeg was arrested at the Headingly Correctional Institute where he was detained on an unrelated matter.  He is facing charges of:

  • Break & Enter with Intent – Dwelling House
  • Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence
  • Discharge a Firearm into or at a Place in a Reckless Manner
  • Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 2
  • Possession of a Weapon

STARR was returned to the Headingly Correctional Institute.
