Thursday, March 20, 2014 COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C14-57073 On March 19, 2014 at approximately 9:45 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members attended to a grocery store in the 400 block of Elgin Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery.   Officers learned that the armed suspect, with his identity concealed, had approached the counter demanding cash and cigarettes.  The victim refused and after a brief verbal confrontation the suspect fled the store.   The clerk was not injured.   The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, lighter skin tone, 20 years of age, 6' tall with a slim build.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
