RESIDENTIAL BREAK AND ENTER- ARREST    C14-49301
On March 9, 2014 shortly before 8:30 a.m. Emergency Services Responders were dispatched to a residence within the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue after receiving the report of a break-in and assault that had just occurred.
 
Officers arrived on scene and learned that the residents were asleep when they were awoken to find three male suspects inside their home.  One of the suspects held down the 25-year-old female resident while the two other suspects immediately set upon assaulting the 25-year-old male occupant.  The male victim was seriously assaulted about the upper body.
 
When the suspects fled out the front door, police and paramedics were summoned.
 
Numerous units, including a canine unit attended in search of the suspects.  A suspect male was apprehended in the area of McKenzie Street and Redwood Avenue. 
 
The 25-year-old female received minor injuries during the incident, while the 25-year-old male victim was transported from the scene in critical condition.
 

As a result of his alleged involvement, Daris SINCLAIR, 22 years of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Aggravated Assault

- Uttering Threats and

- Break Enter Commit Assault

SINCLAIR has been detained in custody.

COMMERCIAL BREAK AND ENTER- ARREST             C14-49712
On March 9, 2014 shortly before 11:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform Members were dispatched to a strip mall within the 1800 block of Grant Avenue after a witness observed a suspect smash the front window of a business.

Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect male fleeing the area.  During the brief foot pursuit, two bags containing numerous bottles of wine were dropped and later recovered by officers.  The suspect was subsequently taken into custody in the 600 block of Centennial Street. 

As a result of his alleged involvement, Neil David VANENGEL, 37 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break Enter & Commit, Possess Break-in Instruments and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. 

He has been detained in custody.
