Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Friday, March 8, 2013 STABBING ARRESTS – C13-044848 On Thursday, March 7, 2013 at approximately 9:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Evanson Street for the report of a male having been stabbed.   Attending officers located at 41 year old male victim suffering from wounds to the upper body consistent with having been stabbed.  The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.   Investigation has revealed that several people were socializing when an argument erupted between one of the accused and the victim.  The argument escalated to the point where the victim was assaulted by both of the accused, one of which who had been armed with a weapon.  Both accused fled the scene but were located a short time later by police and taken into custody without incident.   John Edward HORNBROOK, 29 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation.  He has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.   A 17 year old female from Winnipeg has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possess/Consume liquor under 18 years of age.  She has been detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.   For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
