Stabbing Arrests – C15-52725
On March 15, 2015, at approximately 9:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 300 block of Blake Street for the report of a stabbing.

Two males, 24 and 33 years of age were located and found to be suffering from apparent stab wounds to the upper body.  Both were transported to hospital in critical condition and are later upgraded to stable.

An adult female was arrested at the scene.

The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit. It was learned that people had been socializing when the two males became embroiled in an argument.  The female armed herself with a weapon, partnered with one of the males and the two then proceeded to stab the 24-year-old male.  During the altercation the female also stabbed the second male.

Skyrose Marie JAWBONE, 33 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for her alleged involvement:

  • Aggravated Assault x 2
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance x 3

Bradley Elliot Wayne CHARTRAND, 33 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance x 3

Both were detained in custody.


Vehicle Break-In Arrests – C15-52909
In response to on-going property crime issues in the River Heights area, Winnipeg Police Service West District members have focused active patrols in the area in an effort to locate & arrest offenders responsible for these crimes.

On March 16, 2015, shortly after 4:00 a.m. West District members were patrolling in the area of Kingsway and Campbell Street when they spotted several suspicious males believed to be breaking into vehicles.  All suspects ran upon seeing police. Two were arrested a short distance away while the third eluded capture.  It is believed the outstanding suspect stole a vehicle in the area, making good his escape.  The stolen vehicle has not yet been recovered.

Members of West District General Patrol and Crime Unit continued with the investigation.  It was learned that the three suspects were responsible for breaking into 15 vehicles in the area and that property was stolen from at least three of the vehicles.

Investigators were able to identify the third suspect however attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.

Two 14-year-old males from Winnipeg were charged with the following for their alleged involvement:

  • Theft Under $5000 x 3
  • Mischief Under $5000 x 14
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x 2

One of the two accused was also charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

Both were detained in custody.

On March 17th shortly before 1:00 a.m. officers observed a stolen vehicle in the downtown area and attempted to stop it in the area of Ellice Avenue and McGee Street.  The driver fled and became involved in a collision near Sargent Avenue and Victor Street.  The driver fled on foot but was located and arrested a short distance away.

It was later learned that the driver was the suspect being sought by West District detectives.

A 13-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Theft Under $5000 x 3
  • Mischief Under $5000 x 14
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
  • Drive without licence or with invalid licence (HTA)
  • Fail to Comply with Disposition x 5

He was detained in custody.
