A male suspect was arrested at the scene.

Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.  It was learned that the accused and male victim reside together.  The accused took exception when the victim brought home two friends to socialize.  An altercation ensued which resulted in the accused physically assaulting the male victim.  When the two female guests attempted to intervene, the accused assaulted them as well and then armed him-self with a weapon and proceeded to stab the victim.  All victims were able to flee the residence and police were contacted.  The two other victims did not require medical attention.

Prostitution Arrest – R14-89321
In December of 2014, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Counter Exploitation Unit became involved in a prostitution investigation.

The two victims, unknown to each other and 13 and 17 years of age at the time of the separate incidents indicated that they had met a male via social media.

From mid- November to early December the accused advertised the 17-year-old victim's services as an escort on a website known to provide sexual services for money. The accused allowed the victim to use his residence for escort purposes for approximately two weeks, and assisted her in various aspects of these activities.

In mid-November the accused befriended the 13-year-old via social media.  During their exchanges the accused discussed the consumption of alcohol and illegal drugs.  Further, the accused made plans to meet the victim, though no meeting ever took place between the two. These communications between the accused and the 13-year-old were in contravention of a court order which prohibited the accused from communicating with a person under the age of 16 years of age.

On March 20, 2015, investigators attended to a provincial facility where the accused was being held in regards to previous charges.

Kevin John ROSE, 42 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Procured to Have Illicit Sexual Intercourse
  • Procuring Prostitution of a Person Under 18 years of age
  • Fail to Comply with Prohibition Regarding Children
