HISTORICAL SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST – C03-220604
On October 4, 2003 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a sexual assault.

Officers met with the then 26 year old victim who advised that she had been in the 1st 100 block of Princess Street when she was approached by two males.  The two males grabbed the victim and pulled her into an alley at which time she was sexually assaulted.  After the assault the two suspects robbed the victim of personal property.
 
At the time DNA evidence was recovered however no matches were found to be in the RCMP National DNA data bank.
 
In October of 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service was notified that a DNA profile match to a suspect had been confirmed.
 
On December 3, 2013 members of the Sex Crimes Unit attended to the Headingley Correctional Centre and arrested the suspect who was incarcerated on an unrelated matter.
 
Justin CROW 34 years has been charged with Sexual Assault & Robbery with Violence.
 
He was returned to the Headingley Correctional Centre.
 
The investigation continues by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the second suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SUSPICIOUS PERSON – R13-91173
On December 3, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a suspicious person.
 
Officers met with two children, both 11 years of age.  The female advised that at approximately 12:50 p.m. she had been in the area of Mountain Avenue and McGregor Street when a vehicle pulled alongside her and the driver began rolling down the window.  She ran to the intersection of Mountain & Andrews where she told the school patrol who was performing his duties.  He told her to run to the school which she did.
 
The suspect drove up to the school patrol, exited the vehicle and stated "GET IN THE TRUCK NOW."  The patrol immediately ran to the school.
 
Neither child recognized the suspect.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, 50-60 years of age, short white hair with a bald spot in front, white facial hair.  He was wearing a plaid jacket and blue jeans.
 
The vehicle is described as an older black GMC Sierra with a custom front grill and dark tinted windows.

The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY UPDATE – ARREST - C13-246096
As previously released, on November 30, 2013 at 4:55 a.m., officers responded to a gas bar located in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West regarding a robbery incident that just occurred.
 
A lone male suspect confronted a 21 year-old male employee and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the till. The suspect indicated that he was in possession of a weapon, however the employee was unharmed. 
 
The investigation continued by the Major Crimes Unit and a suspect was identified.
 
On December 4, 2013 the suspect was located and arrested for his alleged involvement.
 
Trevor Courtney ROESLER 28 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Armed Robbery & Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES ARREST – C13-249703
Between June 19, 2013 & December 4, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service received the reports of 4 commercial robberies, a residential break-in & commercial break-in.  They include:

  • June 19, 2013 - Commercial Break & Enter to a grocery store in the 1000 block of Main Street.  No injuries.
  • Between August 5 & 9 – Residential Break & Enter in the 1000 block of Taylor Avenue.
  • November 6, 2013 - Commercial robbery at a restaurant in the 200 block of Henderson Highway.  No injuries.
  • December 2, 2013 – Commercial robbery at a store in the 1500 block of Main Street.  No injuries.
  • December 4, 2013, 9:30 a.m. – Commercial robbery at a store in the 1600 block of Main Street.

On December 4, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a restaurant in the 2100 block of McPhillips Street for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Information received was that a lone male, armed with a weapon and with his identity concealed had entered the restaurant.  He demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money after which he fled on foot.  The clerk was not injured.
 
Responding officers located a male matching the suspect description and arrested him without incident.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and were able to link the suspect to the aforementioned crimes.
 
Allen John WUSS 28 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Armed Robbery x 4, Disguise with Intent x 4, Break Enter & Commit – Place and Break Enter & Commit – Dwelling House for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
