MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION UPDATE ARREST C13-192298
As previously released, on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Magnus Avenue and Main Street for the report of a motor vehicle collision.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford F150 was travelling south bound on Main Street at a high rate of speed when it struck a Chevrolet S10 which had just turned south bound onto Main Street from east bound Aberdeen Avenue. After striking the S10 the F150 continued on through a chain link fence and damaged eight other vehicles that were parked within the lot. Two other vehicles parked on the street were damaged as well.
The 46 year old male and 38 year old female occupants of the S10, along with the 44 year old female passenger from the F150 were transported to hospital in stable condition. The driver of the F150, a 58 year old male was transported in critical condition and later upgraded to stable.
Both speed and alcohol were factors in this collision.
The investigation continued by members of the Central Traffic Unit and on December 12, 2013 an arrest was made.
The 58 year old male from Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood Causing Bodily Harm x 3
- Driving While Ability Impaired Causing Bodily Harm x 3
- Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle x 3
He was released via a Promise to Appear.
RESIDENTIAL BREAK & ENTER ARRESTS C13-242471
Between November 25, 2013 & December 6, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of 10 residential break & enters. They include:
- November 25 - 400 block of Parr Street
- November 26 - 400 block of Parr Street
- November 27 700 block of Machray Avenue
- November 27/28 700 block of Cathedral Avenue
- November 28 500 block of Parr Street
- November 28 400 block of Parr Street
- November 29 500 block of Parr Street
- December 1 1000 block of Polson Avenue
- December 1 900 block of Atlantic Avenue
- December 6 600 block of Polson Avenue
On December 10, 2013 shortly after 3:00 p.m. police were dispatched to the 600 block of Cathedral Avenue for the report of a break & enter that had just occurred.
Uniform members along with Canine attended the scene. The Canine team was able to track one of the suspects to the 400 block of Parr Street where he was arrested without incident.
The investigation continued by members of the District 3 Crime unit and two other suspects were identified and arrested.
One 13 year old and two fourteen year old male youths all of Winnipeg are facing multiple property related offences for their alleged involvement.
One of the fourteen year old accused was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre. The two other accused were released via Promises to Appear.
