Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Saturday, January 5, 2012     FIRE – C13-002908 On Saturday, January 5, 2013 at approximately 5:15 a.m. Emergency Personnel were dispatched to the 700 block of Victor Street for a working fire.   The investigation is in the early stages and it appears that the fire started in the garage, spread to the house and then to the neighbouring homes on either side.   Initial damage to the three homes is estimated at $400,000.00.  No one within the homes was injured.   Not long after another fire was reported to an apartment building located a short distance away in the same block of Victor Street.   Several people were taken to hospital in stable condition.   Estimated damage to the apartment building is $30,000.00. At this time both fires are being treated as suspicious.
