Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Tuesday, January 15, 2013   RESIDENTIAL FIRE – C13-009131 As already reported in the media, on Monday, January 14, 2013 at approximately 10:30 a.m. Emergency Personnel were dispatched to the 600 block of Maryland Street in regards to a working fire involving a rooming house.   Several residents were within the residence at the time of the incident however all managed to exit safely and no injuries were reported.   The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the total damage is estimated to be in excess of $300,000.00.    The investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Unit.    For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
