MISSING PERSON –Shaine OLSON-TRYON - R12-135601
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 17 year old female, Shaine OLSON-TRYON.  OLSON-TRYON was last seen on December 24th, 2012 at Langside Street and Sargeant Avenue.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service considers OLSON-TRYON to be a child in need of protection as she is at high risk of being exploited or victimized and investigators are very concerned for her well-being. 
 
OLSON-TRYON frequents downtown malls and the West End areas of the city including the Millennium Library.  She may have gone to Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver.
 
OLSON-TRYON is described as Caucasian, 5'5" tall approximately 100 pounds with a thin build, long blonde hair sometimes in a ponytail and blue/green eyes.




 


Anyone with information regarding OLSON-TRYON'S whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 986-6250.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-000093
On Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at approximately 1:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to a gas bar in the 1300 block of McPhillips Street regarding the report of a Commercial Robbery.
 
It was learned that a lone male, armed with a weapon demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes from the lone male employee.  The employee was not injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, early twenties, 5'6" – 5'8" in height, medium build with light facial hair.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-000253
On Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at approximately 4:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the first 100 block of Osborne Street in regards to the report of a serious motor vehicle collision.
 
Attending officers learned that a 31 year old male had slipped off the curb and fell in front of a taxi travelling Northbound on Osborne Street.  The male was transported to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES ARREST – C13-000661 & C13-000739
On Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at approximately 7:15 p.m. a lone male, with identity concealed and armed with a weapon attended to a business in the 500 block of Broadway Avenue and attempted to rob the store.  The lone employee proceeded to armed himself which resulted in the suspect fleeing the store without having obtained any goods.
 
At approximately 10:30 p.m. the suspect, again with his identity concealed and armed with a weapon attended to a convenience store in the 500 block of St. Mary Avenue.  He confronted the two employees, a 59 year old male and 55 year old female, demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the store.
 
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched and the suspect was located in the 200 block of Balmoral Street at which time he was taken into custody without incident.
 
Cody Montana ALEXANDER, 18 years of Winnipeg was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre and is facing the following charges: Robbery with weapon x 2, Wear Disguise with Intent x 2 and Fail to Comply with Condition Recognizance.   
 
 
RESIDENTIAL FIRE – C13-001380
On Thursday, January 3, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Aubrey Street in regards to a working fire.
 
The fire is not suspicious and at this time appears to be the result of faulty wiring.
 
Total damage is estimated $70,000.00.
