Sometime in mid-March 2016, a 21-year-old male was confronted and chased by an unknown armed male while on his way home in the area of Confusion Corner in the City of Winnipeg.

It appears that the armed male suspected and accused the other male of having associations to a rival street-gang. The victim was able to flee the area unharmed.

The suspect continued to pursue the victim and assaulted him with the machete causing multiple serious injuries.

Attending officers located the suspect in the 400 block of St. Mary Avenue and placed him under arrest.

The victim is in stable condition.
