Update: Attempt Murder  - C16-51286
As previously released, on March 13, 2016 at approximately 4:00 am, a number of people attended to a gathering at a residence in the 200 block of Hazel Dell Avenue. During this gathering several people were involved in a verbal argument outside the residence which quickly escalated. A firearm was produced and was discharged, striking 3 separate individuals. The victims were all males, aged 19, 20, and 21 years.

The Winnipeg Police Service was contacted and officers entered into an investigation.
The three victims were conveyed to area hospitals, where they were treated for serious injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. All three victims are presently in stable condition.

The Major Crimes Unit later identified the suspect and an arrest warrant was issued.

Haben NipseyWELDEKIDAN, 22 years-old of Winnipeg Manitoba was arrested in the early hours of Monday, March 14, 2016. He was charged with the following offences:

-       Attempt Murder Using a Firearm X 4
-       Fail to Comply Recognizance X 7
-       Numerous Firearms Related Offences

Weldekidan was detained in custody.
