Assault with a Weapon Arrest – C16-43001
On March 1, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a mall located in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West regarding a disturbance involving several youth.
   
The investigation revealed that the youth confronted another group while inside the mall. During this time, a 15-year-old male produced a canister of bear spray and discharged it in the direction of four victims.
   
The suspect fled the mall however, was taken into custody by Canine a short distance away. A canister of bear spray was seized.  
   
The suspect was transported to the East District Station where Detectives continued the investigation.
   
The 15-year-old male has been charged with the following:
   
Assault with a Weapon x 4
Possession of a Weapon
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking
   
He was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
