Residential Robbery Investigation - C16-47724
On March 8, 2016 at approximately 1:20 p.m., general patrol members of East District responded to the report of a residential robbery in the first 100 block of Stacey Bay. 
   
The investigation revealed that two male suspects attended to a residence.  When the 52-year-old female resident opened the door, she was threatened and assaulted.  The suspects demanded cash and threatened her son, who was not home at the time. 
   
The female was eventually able to call 911 at which time the suspects fled.


The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.  Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

 
 

Drug Arrest - R16-16736
As a result of an ongoing investigation by the District 3 crime unit, two males have been charged with weapons and drug offences. 
   
On March 8, 2016 at 9:23 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on Nairn Avenue.  Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a firearm, ammunition, and other weapons including a hatchet and a collapsible baton.  Eric SCHINKEL, 28-years-of age, of Steinbach, was taken into custody.  He has been charged with multiple firearm related offences.
   
At 10:44 p.m., at the intersection of Langevin Street and Provencher Boulevard, a traffic stop was conducted and drugs were seized.  Jeffrey GIBSON, 42-years-old, of no fixed address, was arrested and subsequently charged with possession of Marihuana and Methamphetamine.
   
Both accused were detained in the Provincial Remand Centre.
