OUR NEW CANINE PUPS HAVE ARRIVED

On May 8th, 2013, after nearly 12 hours in labor, Police Service Dog (PSD) Mya gave birth to 11 healthy pups; 7 females and 4 males.  This is the first litter in almost 2 years for the proud parent dogs, PSD Judge and PSD Mya, both working Belgian Malinois of the Winnipeg Police Service.  The litter and mom are doing well.

At this time it is anticipated that 4 of the puppies will be kept by the Winnipeg Police Service and raised by our canine quarries in the puppy rearing program.  Arrangements have also been made for some pups to be raised by the Brandon Police Service and the Dakota Ojibway Police Service for future positions in their respective programs.

The pups will be made available to the media when our new state of the art kennel facility is unveiled later this summer.

This is a great day for our Service and the City of Winnipeg!
