Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Tuesday, May 7, 2013     SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT – INVESTIGATION C13-83910 On May 5, 2013 between 3:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., a 26 year old female was in an apartment block stairwell located on Mayfair Avenue when she observed an unknown male.   While on the 2nd floor platform area, the male confronted the victim by pushing her up against a wall. It was at this time a serious sexual assault occurred. The victim pushed the male away and began screaming. The suspect fled the building.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit.  Members are in the process of composing a suspect composite.
