As previously released, on February 15, 2011 at approximately 4:30 a.m., numerous police resources were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Martin Avenue West regarding a domestic related matter, possibly involving a firearm.

As a safety precaution, area road closures and evacuations took place.

The investigation has revealed that a 26 year old male suspect attended to a residence and confronted his ex-common law's current boyfriend, a 21 year old male victim. The suspect proceeded to physically assault the victim at which time he (21 year old) fled the residence. A 40 year old male occupant was also physically assaulted to the upper body by the suspect.

The 21 year old victim subsequently contacted a family member from a nearby payphone in order to be picked up. It was at this time the victim realized that he had left some personal items back at the residence, therefore returned to retrieve them.

Upon returning to the residence, the 26 year old suspect confronted the victim again, now in possession of a gun. The victim fled the area and police were notified.

Officers made contact with the occupants of the home and the 26 year old male suspect was taken into custody without incident. A pellet gun has since been seized by investigating members.

The 26 year old male is facing the following offences: Assault x 2, Utter Threats to cause death or bodily harm, Fail to Comply with Condition of Recognizance x 3, Breach of Protection Order x 2, Possession of Firearm while Prohibited, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
