Strong-arm Robbery Arrests: C18-70908
On April 8, 2018, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Winnipeg Police received a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the front parking lot of Concordia Hospital (1095 Concordia Ave.).
A woman in her 50's was walking into the hospital from the parking lot along with a 5-year-old relative. She was confronted by 2 male suspects and pepper-sprayed without warning. The victim fell to the ground where she was robbed of her purse. Overspray also contaminated the 5-year-old. Both victims were assisted by witnesses into the emergency area of the hospital where they received medical attention.
Responding general patrol officers located 2 suspects at a residence in the area. Both were arrested and charged.
Brandon WOODHOUSE, 20, has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- CDSA 4(1) Possession of Controlled Drug or Substance (Marihuana)
He was detained in custody.
A 12-year-old male was charged with:
- Robbery
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
He was released on a Promise to Appear
Mischief - Arrest: C18-70025
On April 7, 2018, at approximately 2:50 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of an aggressive panhandler in the area of Fermor Ave. and Lagimodiere Blvd.
Officers attended and learned that an adult female was operating her vehicle eastbound on Fermor Ave. approaching Lagimodiere Blvd. When the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection, a male approached and proceeded to squeegee the driver's side window. The driver made several indications that she did not wish to her vehicle cleaned however the male continued. Once completed, the male demanded payment. When the driver refused, the male struck the front windshield several times with the squeegee causing the window to shatter. The victim was not injured.
General patrol officers located the suspect male in the area and took him into custody.
Ryan Ronald COLOMB, a 27-year-old male of The Pas, Manitoba, has been charged with Mischief Under $5000 and Identity Fraud. He was detained.
