Motor Vehicle Collision – Investigation: C18-38600
On April 26, 2018, at approximately 12:35 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Grant Avenue and Elmhurst Road for a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a dump truck and a car.
   
The adult male driver and an adult female passenger in the car were transported to hospital, one in critical condition, one unstable. Both have been upgraded to stable condition and remain in hospital at this time.  
   
The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.
   
The investigation is continuing and traffic Collision Investigators remain on scene this morning.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Division. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
     
Child Sexual Imagery - Arrest: R17-83764
On September 17, 2017, and adult male residing in Winnipeg distributed 160 images of child pornography to the Internet via a free online calling/messaging service.
   
On September 27, 2017, he distributed a child pornography image to the Internet via a social media app.
   
On October 3, 2017, the same male distributed a child pornography video to the Internet via a social media app.
   
Police were notified by an administrator one of these apps and entered into an investigation.
   
On April 10, 2018 members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the For Richmond area of Winnipeg. Computers and other electronic devices were seized for analysis.

On April 24, 2018, Muhammad Zahid PARACHA, a 20-years-old male was arrested. He has been charged with:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possess for the Purpose of Distribution or Sale any Child Pornography X3

He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
