Crime Prevention Tip

Finally spring!! As the weather warms up most people seize the opportunity to ride their bicycles and motor bikes. As you tune up your two-wheelers please ensure the following:

  • Operate your two-wheelers with a properly fitted and fastened protective helmet ( if you are under 18)
  • If you have a passenger under 18, ensure they are wearing properly fitted and fastened protective helmet.
  • Ensure you are riding on the same side as traffic.
  • Ensure you don't carry more persons than the bicycle or motor bike is designed to carry.

Failure to adhere to these Highway Traffic Act Laws might get you a ticket.

  While riding remember:

  • You have the same rights and responsibilities as a motorist.
  • If drivers can see you, they are less likely to hit you. Use lights when biking at night or in low-light conditions.
  • Don't be distracted or talk on the phone while riding.

Have a safe week ahead!
