Robbery - Arrests: C18-73632
On April 12, 2018, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of Salter Street.  The store clerk advised that several people entered the store and began taking items off the shelves. When the clerk asked if he could help them, one of the suspects advised that they "could do what they want", and motioned to grab something from behind his back. The group continued to grab various items before exiting the store at which time one of the suspects pulled out a large machete and threatened the clerk. The clerk was not injured.
   
General patrol officers attended and quickly located the suspects. After a short foot pursuit, three suspects were apprehended in the 500 block of Selkirk Ave, and one in the 500 block of Burrows Ave.
   
Upon searching the suspects, one was found to have a replica handgun strapped to his neck and concealed by his hood. A second male was in possession of a replica firearm attached to a strap and concealed under his clothing. A third male was in possession of a machete which was concealed inside the front waistband of his pants.
   
Thunder Lightening FONTAINE,an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Possess Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Robbery.
   
Colton Ross DESMERAIS, 18-years-old, has been charged with Robbery, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.
   
David Walter ANDERSON, 20-years-old, has been charged with Robbery and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
   
A 15-year-old male has also been charged with Robbery, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.
   
They were all remanded into custody.
