Smart Cities Challenge - What would our community do with $50 million?

The Smart Cities Challenge is asking Canadian communities to come up with a big idea and submit an application to win up to $50 million. The Challenge encourages communities to adopt a smart cities approach to improve the lives of their residents through innovation, data and connected technology.

Tonight - North Winnipeg Antenna System Project Public Information Session

The City of Winnipeg (the City) must relocate an existing antenna system from its current location at the North End Pollution Water Control Centre (NEWPCC) at 2230 Main St. Although the City withdrew its previous application in summer 2016, the project is being renewed to accommodate for the future expansion of the NEWPCC. Learn more at an information session.

Help Shape Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan at a Public Priorities Workshop

You're invited to a workshop to review and provide feedback about the draft Action Plan. This will be the final opportunity for residents to participate in the process before the action plan goes to Council for consideration in the spring.

Time: Doors open at 5:45 p.m.; session runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: North Centennial Community Centre, 90 Sinclair Street

Ongoing Opportunities for Engagement with the City of Winnipeg

Last Chance to provide your input through the Sister MacNamara Park Redevelopment survey

Thank you to all who attended the Sister MacNamara Park Redevelopment workshop on February 5, 2018.  If you were unable to attend the workshop, we encourage you to provide your input on future park enhancements through the online survey. The survey will be open until February 20, 2018.

A Better Bridge for Arlington Survey

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the community event! On February 8, 2018, more than 150 people came out to learn more about the project, meet team members, view the scale model and see how input was considered by the project team as part of designing a new bridge. We received 43 paper surveys.

Adjustable Bike Lane Curbs Pilot

The City installed adjustable bike lane curbs in two locations to test installation methods, monitor maintenance, and assess the comfort level of users. For more information, to fill out a survey or to view a map of the changes online, please visit winnipeg.ca/walkbikeprojects and select the adjustable bike lane curbs project. The survey will be open for the duration of the pilot project.

Upcoming Opportunities for Engagement with the City of Winnipeg

Route 90 Widening

The Route 90 widening preliminary design study is underway. The City of Winnipeg (the City) is working with technical experts, key stakeholders, and the public to develop a preferred design for the widening of Route 90 between Taylor Avenue and Ness Avenue. Updates will be provided as more information on upcoming opportunities for online and in-person engagement become available.

Engagement for this phase of the project will include:

  • Project Advisory Committee (PAC)
  • Stakeholder meetings and outreach
  • Online engagement and statistical surveys
  • Public open house to gather public feedback
