Friday, February 2, 2018 Robbery - Arrest: C18-23425 On February 1, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to a robbery at a business in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue. General Patrol members from the East District Station responded. Upon arriving, they found that a retired Winnipeg Police officer, who happened upon the suspect in the immediate area, was able to take the suspect into custody. Officers learned that the suspect entered the business, made mention of possessing weapons and demanded money. He was provided with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the business. In the immediate area, the suspect entered an occupied running vehicle, told the driver that he had a weapon and demanded to be driven to a different location. The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle with the keys. The retired officer, who was in the area, then apprehended the suspect. All money was recovered and no injuries were sustained. Darren Rodney REMPLE, 51-years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery X2. He has been detained in custody. Robbery - Arrest: C18-23635 On February 1, 2018 at approximately 10:35 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a robbery at business in the 6500 block of Roblin Boulevard. General Patrol, K-9 and Tactical Support Team members attended to the area. A K-9 Unit was able to obtain a track and located the suspect at a nearby residence where he was taken into custody. Money obtained from the robbery was recovered. Officers learned that the suspect, while wearing a disguise and armed with a knife, confronted an employee. He demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money and fled. The employee was not injured. A 13-year-old youth has been charged with Robbery, Possess Weapon and Disguise with Intent. He has been detained in custody. Break and Enter - Arrests: C18-23022 On February 1, 2018, after a lengthy investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit, two adult males and one adult female have been arrested and charged with numerous Break and Enter related offences. In December 2017, a 2018 rental vehicle was reported stolen in Winnipeg. On December 18, 2017, all three suspects attended a business in the 600 block of Kildare Avenue East. They unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry, causing significant damage to the front door. On December 30, 2017, they attended a business in the 800 block of Waverley Street and forced entry. Money, electronics and other assorted items were stolen. On January 4, 2018, all three suspects forced entry to a business in the first 100 block of Stadacona Street. Money and various other items were stolen. Overnight, January 7 - 8, 2018, a vehicle licence plate was stole in the 100 block of Dumoulin Street. On January 10, 2018, all three suspects forced entry to two businesses in the first 100 block of Island Shore Boulevard. Money was stolen. Overnight, January 13 - 14, 2018, a vehicle licence plate was stolen from an unknown location. Between January 18/19, 2018, all three suspects forced entry to a business in the 400 block of London Street. Money and various items were stolen. On January 24, 2018, they forced entry to a business in the 700 block of Pembina Highway. Merchandise was stolen. On January 30, 2018 they forced entry to a building in the 600 block of St. Anne's Road. Nothing was stolen. On February 1, 2018, all three suspects unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry to a business in the first 100 block of Red River Boulevard by damaging the front door. On February 1, 2018 at approximately 12:30 a.m., general patrol members observed the stolen vehicle being operated in the area of Main Street and Red River Boulevard. The vehicle was stopped with all three suspects inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle disclosed the following: - Both stolen licence plate
- A large amount of personal mail belonging to numerous different addresses
- Personal property in the form of identification, retail and payment cards belonging to numerous people
- Break-in instruments
- One shotgun shell
