Drugs & Firearm – Arrests: C18-27472
 
During the afternoon of February 7, 2018, members of the West District General Patrol and Community Support Units were dispatched to check the wellbeing of individuals at a residence in the 100 block of Baylor Avenue.
 
With the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, two occupants were taken into custody. An investigation led officers to obtain and execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant for the residence. A number of items have been seized including the following:
 
- A loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.
- Multiple rounds of assorted ammunition.
- 4 ounces of powder cocaine (estimated street value of $11,200).
- Packaging materials.
- A digital scale.
- Items contaminated with a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
 
Lewis Jordan Starr, a 34-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Possession of a Prohibited Ammunition Knowing its Poss is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Poss is Unauthorized
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
 
He was detained in custody.
 
A 25-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with:
 
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon (x2)
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
 
She was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
Firearm – Arrests: R18-8420, C18-27715
 
During the evening of February 7, 2018, members of the Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Organized Crime Unit and Tactical Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a suite of an apartment in the 400 block of Kennedy Street.
 
Three individuals were taken into custody and an investigation has led to the seizure of a number of items including the following:
 
- A sawed-off .22 calibre rifle.
- An ammunition magazine containing a .22 calibre cartridge.
 
Corey Hart, a 32-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Ammunition Knowing its Poss is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
- Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2)
 
Myron Creed Bison Tanner, a 26-year-old male of Portage La Prairie, has been charged with:
 
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2)
 
They were detained in custody.
 
One person was released without charges.
