SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION C12-91198
In September, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit launched an investigation into a sexual assault incident that occurred at a department store located in the south end area of Winnipeg. 
 
The investigation has revealed that on September 20th, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an adult female victim was shopping when she was approached from behind by a male suspect. It was at this time the suspect made deliberate inappropriate contact with the victim.
 
Surveillance footage shows the male approach the unsuspecting female victim. The suspect then drops an item near the victim's feet and proceeds to grope her to the lower body.
 
Anyone with information regarding this incident or any other incident(s) similar in nature is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477). 
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – C12-224877
On November 6, 2012, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to a suite located in the 300 block of Assiniboine Avenue to check on the wellbeing of a resident.
 
Attending members located a deceased male who has since been identified as 55 year old, Hank Louis LECOY. The deceased was observed to have sustained upper body trauma.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit were notified and attended.
 
Results of an autopsy are pending.
 
No arrest(s) have been made at this time. The investigation is on-going.
  
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES – ARREST C12-225017
Between October 31 and November 6, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to numerous commercial robbery incidents at various locations within the city.
 
During these incidents, a lone male suspect would enter the business and confront an employee while in possession of a knife. The suspect made demands and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. No injuries were reported.
 
The incidents are as follows:
 
October 31st – 5:24 p.m. – Convenience store – 1300 block of Main Street
November 1st – 4:12 a.m. – Convenience store – 700 block of Mountain Avenue
November 4th – 3:53 a.m. – Gas bar – 1300 block of McPhillips Street
November 4th – 6:56 a.m. – Gas bar - 800 block Leila Avenue
November 4th – 12:47 p.m. – Grocery store – 500 block of Mountain Avenue
November 4th – 1:23 p.m. – Grocery store – 400 block of Mountain Avenue
November 4th – 5:40 p.m. – Grocery store – 600 block of Stella Avenue
November 6th – 4:00 p.m. – Grocery store – 1300 block of Mountain Avenue
 
As a result of the on-going investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit, the suspect was identified.
 
On November 6, 2012, at approximately 5:12 p.m., Daniel Emrys LARSEN, 23 years was located in the vicinity of the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue and arrested. He has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement: Robbery with a Weapon x 8, Disguise with Intent x 2 and Breach Probation x 11.
 
He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.  
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – ARREST C12-225185
On November 6, 2012, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers responded to a robbery incident at a convenience store located in the 100 block of Keewatin Street involving a lone male suspect.
 
The suspect entered the business and began causing a disturbance. As a result, a 54 year old male employee approached the suspect. It was at this time the suspect became aggressive and indicated that he was in possession of a knife. An undisclosed amount of cigarettes were stolen and the suspect fled.
 
Due to the efforts of Division 11 Uniform Patrol members and members of the Major Crimes Unit, Craig Myles BUSHIE, 30 years was located in the vicinity and arrested.
 
He has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement: Robbery with Violence and Fail to Comply with Condition Recognizance.
 
He was detained.
