Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

DRUG – ARREST C12-232017
On November 16, 2012, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 200 block of Lansdowne Avenue.
 
As a result, officers located the following items within the residence:
 
1.07 ounces of powder cocaine – estimated street value $2400.00
6 grams cannabis marihuana – estimated street value $60.00
Cellular phones
Packaging material
$200.00 Canadian currency
Ballistic body armour
 
At approximately 3:50 p.m., a male was located in the home and taken into custody.
 
William Keith PIERSON, 32 years of age has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged invovlement:
 
Possessing substance for the purpose of trafficking
Possessing controlled drug or substance
Body armour and fortified vehicle control act
Possess proceeds of crime
Fail to comply with conditions undertaking
 
PIERSON was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.  
 
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY C12-232813
On November 17, 2012, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a bank located in the area of Killarney Avenue as a result of a robbery incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that two armed male suspects entered the business and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a vehicle.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
The suspects are described as: Male, Caucasian, medium to thin builds, between 5'11"- 6'2" tall.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
STABBING INVESTIGATION C12-233090
On November 17, 2012, at approximately 11:50 p.m., several WPS units responded to a stabbing incident that occurred in a hotel suite located in the 600 block of Main Street.
 
At this stage, it appears that an altercation had taken place involving several occupants who had been consuming intoxicants. The altercation resulted in three people being physically assaulted and or stabbed. The victims, a 40 year old female, 49 year old female and a 56 year old male are in stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing.
