As previously released, on April 9th, 2012 just before 9:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service along with emergency services responders were dispatched to three separate stabbing incidents that occurred in the North End of the city.

These separate incidents occurred within the 400 block of Boyd Avenue, the 200 block of Powers Street and near the intersection at Redwood Avenue and Andrews Street.

The three male victims, aged 14 and two 17 year olds sustained stab wounds to their upper bodies and were transported to the hospital.

During these instances the victims were walking in the area when they were approached by two suspect males who demanded their personal property. The victims were robbed of their property, assaulted and stabbed.

Responding members were in the area of Powers Street and Alfred Avenue when officers observed the suspects, who immediately fled on foot.   A brief foot chase ensued and both males were taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the continued and lengthy investigation by members of the Division 13 Crime Unit, two male youths from Winnipeg, aged 15 and 16 years are facing a number of charges including three counts of robbery with a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and aggravated assault.

The 15 year old youth is also facing charges of failing to comply with conditions of a sentence order as well as an outstanding warrant.

The same two suspects are alleged to be responsible for an attempt theft of a 2008 scooter from a residence within the 500 block of Alfred Avenue (the property of a 19 year old male).
