MALE SHOT – HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C12-61774
On April 6, 2012, at approximately 12:10 a.m., uniform patrol members responded to the area of the 600 block of Maryland Street regarding a gunshot incident.
 
Attending members located an injured male on the sidewalk with an upper body injury consistent with being shot. The male was conveyed to hospital in critical condition however, he has since succumbed to injuries sustained.
 
The victim has been positively identified and notifications are ongoing. He has been identified as a 42 year old male. The victim's name will not be released at this time.
 
Autopsy results are pending.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate. No arrest(s) have been made at this time.

STABBING – ARREST C12-61839
On April 6, 2012, at approximately 1:35 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 400 block of Flora Avenue regarding a stabbing incident.
 
At this stage, investigators have determined that a small gathering had taken place at which time a 17 year old male proceeded to stab a 21 year old female.
 
The victim sustained injuries as a result of the incident. She is in stable condition.
 
At approximately 3:00 a.m., the 17 year old male suspect was located and placed under arrest.
 
He is facing several charges which include: Aggravated Assault, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Utter Threats and Failure to Comply with Sentence x 3.
 
He remains in custody. The investigation is ongoing by members of the Division 13 Crime Unit.
 
 
ASSAULT – ARREST C12-61892
On April 6, 2012, at approximately 2:45 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 100 block of Furby Street regarding an assault incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that two males known to one another were in attendance at a drinking party, when a 28 year old male became unruly. After being asked to leave, the 28 year old began damaging the suite and eventually smashed a large window.
 
It was at this time a 27 year old male confronted the 28 year old outside the suite and proceeded to assault him, causing injury. The victim was initially in critical condition however, is currently listed as stable.
 
The 27 year old male is facing the following charges:
 
·        Assault Cause Bodily Harm
·        Breach Probation
 
He has been detained.
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C12-61960
On April 6, 2012, at approximately 5:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a park located in the area of the 300 block of Henderson Highway regarding an injured male.
 
Officers located an adult male with injuries which are being considered as suspicious in nature. The male has since been pronounced deceased.
 
The name of the victim will not be released at this time.
 
Autopsy results are pending. No arrest(s) have been made at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.
