Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

DRUG INVESTIGATION – ARRESTS C12-60765
Since March, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Organized Crime Unit have been involved in an investigation surrounding a high level cocaine trafficking ring.
 
On April 4, 2012, at approximately 6:00 pm., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and Cathedral Avenue, at which time a 24 year old male was placed under arrest for drug related offences. A search of a Mazda 3 vehicle revealed the following:
 
·        9 ounces of cocaine – estimated street value $13,500.00
·        $800.00 cash
 
At approximately 6:30 p.m., a second traffic stop was conducted in the area of Levis Avenue and Watt Street, involving an Acura MDX. A 25 year old male was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle revealed the following:
 
·        2 ounces of cocaine – estimated street value $3000.00
·        $70.00 cash
 
The investigation progressed at which time a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant was executed, with the assistance of the Street Crimes Unit and the Tactical Support Team at a suite located in the 500 block of Bowman Avenue.
 
At approximately 10:30 p.m., officers entered the residence at which time a 23 year old female and 31 year old male were placed under arrest.
 
The following items were located and seized from within the suite:
 
·        1 kilogram of cocaine (packaged as individual ounces) – estimated street value $52,500.00
·        2 kilograms of cocaine (brick form) – estimated street value $100,000.00
·        Approximately $10,000.00 cash
·        2 ounces of marihuana – estimated street value $480.00
·        Cellular phones
·        Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia
·        Approximately 25-30 kilograms of benzocaine (cutting agent) valued at $12,500.00
 
The following individuals have been arrested.
 
Christine Reanne, NAZARETH, 23 years
Kim Cheng, LEE, 31 years
Justin Paul, LIWANAG, 24 years
25 year old male
 
Three of the accused named have been detained. A 25 year old male was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
COMMERCIAL BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION

On April 4, 2012, the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter incident to The Tuxedo Lawn Bowling Club located in the area of Corydon Avenue and Grenfell Boulevard.  
 
Sometime between March 29and April 4, 2012, entry was gained to the club by smashing a window on the east side of the building. The suspect(s) proceeded to vandalize the interior of the club causing extensive damage. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 6 Crime Unit.
 
Investigators are requesting the public's assistance. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-2877 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – ARREST C12-34502
On February 25, 2012, between 10:15 a.m. and 10:25 a.m., officers responded to two separate robbery incidents involving restaurants located in the 600 block of St. Anne's Road and the 1000 block of St. Mary's Road.
 
Two female employees were confronted by a lone male suspect when money was demanded. An undisclosed amount was obtained and the suspect fled the area.
 
 
No one was injured as a result of either incident.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit. As a result of evidence gathered, the suspect was identified and placed under arrest on April 4, 2012.
 
Christopher Giles GERARDY, 28 years has been charged with Robbery x 2.
 
He was detained.
