Drugs/Weapon Offences – C18-110880
 
During the evening of May 27, 2018, members of the District 3 Community Support Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Aikins Street.
 
An investigation has led to the seizure of a number of items including the following:
 
- A loaded sawed-off semi-automatic .22 calibre rifle
- A 30-round firearm magazine with ammunition
- 35 ¼-gram pieces of crack cocaine (estimated street value of $700)
- 4.14 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $320)
 
The investigation was aided by the help of District 3 General Patrol members and the K9 Unit.
 
Gerald Macalintal, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Careless Storage of Firearm or Ammunition
- Store Firearm Contrary to Regulations
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Ammunition
 
Jeffrey Russel Sadiua, a 21-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Careless Storage of Firearm or Ammunition
- Store Firearm Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2)
 
Macalintal and Sadiua were detained in custody.
 
A 26-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
 
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Careless Storage of Firearm or Ammunition
- Store Firearm Contrary to Regulations
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Ammunition
 
He was released on a promise to appear.
