Stolen Vehicle – Arrest: C18-97710
 
On May 12, 2018, at approximately 12:15 a.m., a Traffic Division unit was in the area of Pembina Highway and Grandmont Boulevard when they observed a sedan operating at a high rate of speed and without any lights on.
 
Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle however it fled. Additional police resources became involved in the search for the vehicle including AIR 1, K9, General Patrol and other Traffic Division units.
 
At approximately 12:40 a.m., AIR 1 located the vehicle abandoned in the area of Ashworth Street South and Hirt Avenue.
 
At the same time, an East District General Patrol unit involved in the search was travelling nearby in the first 100 block of Lambeth Road when they observed a male run across the road in front of them. The male attempted to jump a fence but was unsuccessful.
 
The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
 
It has been determined that the vehicle had been stolen from the 2400 block of Pembina Highway earlier on May 11, 2018. The vehicle was found to have stolen licences plates affixed to it, which had been taken later in the day.
 
Greg Livingstone Harris, a 54-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of Break-In Instrument(s)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
 
He was detained in custody.
